Respite Care

Caregiving for a loved one can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but we know it can also be physically and emotionally draining. That’s where our Respite Care Visits comes in–it provides a temporary break for caregivers to recharge and take care of themselves.

Respite Care Visiting is one of our services offered when a caregiver’s care partner becomes a client of Neighbors Who Care. (See below for more client details.)

What are Respite Care Visits?

Compassionate volunteers provide company and conversation helping to those who cannot be left alone and allowing the caregiver a much-needed break.

How often are Respite Care Visits offered?

After your loved one becomes an official client, caregivers may call us three business days before they need a Respite Care Visit. You can request up to TWO (2) respite care sessions, for two hours each, every week. Absolutely free.

Our respite care services ensure that both the caregiver and their loved one receive the support they need.

What is the cost?

Our services are absolutely free. We rely on our team of volunteers and donations to help care for our aging seniors—and the caregivers.

Where do I start?

If you are caring for someone, and are not able to leave your loved one alone to visit the dentist or when you simply want to enjoy a couple of hours to yourself, and you live in the Neighbors Who Care service area, your loved one could qualify to become a client.
