Their Needs Don’t Stop in the Summer: Looking for Volunteers

As Arizona temperatures soar, our client list is also heating up. Many of our regular volunteers are only here in the winter, and they’ve left the area and won’t be back until October. Many others who live here full time, leave to escape the heat and do family vacations.

However, for our clients who rely on our services for their basic needs, summer can be a difficult and lonely time. Our clients need the services we provide including assistance with medical appointments, grocery shopping, and most importantly, human connection.

We can’t do what we do without our volunteers!

While it may be tempting to take a break during the summer months, the reality is that many of our clients don’t take breaks and consistently need help.

Our aging seniors can be severely affected by the Arizona heat and isolation during the summer months is hard on them. Many of them spend a lot of their time indoors, where it’s cooler, but this can lead to loneliness and depression. Having a volunteer visit them can make a huge difference in their lives and provide some much-needed companionship.

Can you help?

You can volunteer for a few hours a week or even a few days a month. We welcome any level of commitment, and we will work with you to find a schedule that suits your availability.

We have a variety of opportunities available such as delivering dinners, driving seniors to important appointments, doing minor repairs and providing companionship to our clients. We will provide all the necessary training and support to ensure that you feel confident and comfortable in your role.

If you have been on the sidelines waiting for the right moment to join in, NOW is the perfect time to step up and support us! Volunteer Today!
