Sharing NWC’s Message: Jennifer Gustafson’s Passion for Community Engagement

Community Engagement Manager Jennifer Gustafson believes in the importance of sharing Neighbors Who Care’s message with our community. As the daughter of one of our former clients, she knows firsthand the impact that NWC volunteers have on homebound seniors who need a little extra help to remain independent in their own homes. “There are many older adults in our area who don’t have anyone else to help them or they just need a little helping hand.” She adds, “And, no matter what services our volunteers provide, they also bring with them friendly interaction that our at-home seniors so rarely receive due to being home by themselves most of the time,” she says.

Most recently, Jennifer shared the Neighbors Who Care story with members of the Kiwanis Club of Chandler. “Any chance I can get to reach our community to let people know about the tremendous need older adults have to get groceries or get to their medical appointments — as well as other easy-to-provide services — I’ll take it,” she says. “As more and more people continue to age, so does the need for volunteers to help these amazing people.”

If you have an hour or two a week, or even just once or twice a month, your help is needed. Becoming a Neighbors Who Care volunteer is easy and only requires having a heart to help others. Visit the Neighbors Who Care volunteer page to learn more about how you can make a difference in the lives of seniors who many not have anyone else to help them.
